SPONSORSHIP

We
had the remaining 30 children write letters to their sponsors for this term. We
received letters from sponsors for 93 of the 186 sponsored children, and we had
them translated and handed out to the children.

Some of the children received letters for
the first time from their sponsors and they were all excited. Some of the
letters included photographs from the children’s sponsors and the children were
so glad to be able to see what their sponsors look like.

HEALTH
Most
of the children are in good health.
Eric Rwandanga is undergoing
treatment for the leg muscle problems that he suffers with. The doctor has not
been able to identify the real problem but he says that the child may finally
have to undergo an operation.

Sarah Uwimana
has acquired a new pair of glasses after the old ones got broken. She is now
able to continue with her studies after she briefly couldn’t attend before we
helped her get them replaced.

We
acquired a water tank that we have
installed at the children's church to harvest the abundant rain water from the
roof. The harvested water will serve as an alternative during the time when we
can't get the piped water. This part of the city usually has water shortages
that last for days. The water from the tank can therefore be an alternative
during such times to serve both the church and the children every time when they
come to church.
EDUCATION SUPPORT
30 children whose uniforms had become old
and torn received new uniforms. We had given out uniforms for all the sponsored
children at the beginning of Term 1 in January.

All the sponsored children's school fees
have been paid for this term, Term 2. We also finished giving out all the school
supplies for this school term.
