Happy 30th Birthday, Karalyn!

National Heroes Day (honoring survivors of the Genocide), so
we spent a quiet morning at home
- Celebrated Karalyn’s birthday with a house full of friends
- Melissa’s first successful meal as “umutetsi”
(“chef”)—spaghetti!

Karalyn sprained her ankle stepping off the curb (ouch!)

Visited 3-7 year old Sunday School class

Hosted a large group of neighborhood kids for an unexpected
visit to our house

Listened live to CCLH online (at least for a few minutes
before the connection failed!)

Prayer
Requests:
*Please pray that
God would continue to give us a clear vision for our ministry
here, and that we would experience complete unity with Pastor
Francis.
*We will begin
teaching English classes to the adults several nights a week.
Please pray for us, as we feel inadequate for the task!
*One of our
sponsored children, Christian Abeho, has been suffering from a
skin condition on his mouth that is so painful he cannot smile
or laugh. He has seen several doctors and attempted
numerous treatments, but nothing seems to solve the problem.
Please pray for God's miraculous healing!
*There will be a
Pastor's Conference here February 20-24. Please pray for
all those who will be attending, including Jason Stead, Bob
Dominguez, and Francel Esquivel from CCLH.
*The two boys who
live behind the church are in need of a new living situation.
Please pray that the Lord would give them a new home near the
church.
Praises:
*The 8-month old
baby whose head was enlarged had a successful surgery last week.
The swelling has begun to recede, but please continue to pray
for a complete healing.
*We're very happy
in our new home! It's perfect for us and a wonderful place
to welcome neighbors and friends.
*God has provided
Alphonse, a joyful and willing servant of God. He takes
care of our cooking, cleaning, even our laundry--and never stops
smiling. He is teaching us Kinyarwanda while we are
teaching him English. He is a real blessing to us!
*We are very
thankful for our new little kitten, Ubu!
