Update and Praise Report on Louise
A few weeks ago we asked you to pray for
Louise, as her mother had abandoned
her. We are happy to report that the Lord has answered our
prayers. This week, Louise's mother returned and the
children were reunited with her again. Our God is faithful
to take care of His children!
Journey to Uganda
Nathan
Perkins
This past weekend we took a 9 1/2 bus ride across the beautiful
country side between the "Heart of Africa" (Rwanda) and the
"Pearl of Africa" (Uganda). We visited with
Nathan Perkins, from CCLH, who
has been attending the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Kampala,
Uganda since fall semester 2006. Nathan has been living with
Pastor Brian Kelly and his family just outside of Kampala for
the past 8 months.
Aside from visiting Nathan, we attended Calvary Chapel Kampala
on Sunday and were excited to see how much it has grown since
last summer. We also helped Lynne, Pastor Brian's wife, with
their 3 kids as she made preparations for their 3 month furlough
back to America.
The trip was short but very fulfilling. Please follow the link
below for pictures.
An Update from Nathan:
Hi
everyone,
Karalyn and Melissa just came down
from
Rwanda to visit us in
Uganda. It was really nice to see
some one from the church, even with
Jason and the team coming it was very
refreshing and encouraging for me. Brian
had a friend that he met when he was in
Bible college come out. He is a pastor
now of a church in
Montana. Also very encouraging,
they left and went back to America with
Lynne, and Brian will follow soon. I
will be in their house (that,s who I
stay with) all by myself.
Things have been well with
Calvary Chapel down here. I have met so
many amazing people, and new friends
have come into my life. We have just
started a new semester of the Bible
college. I am just taking a few classes.
It's extremely hard for me
to concentrate on two things at once. I
have been going to high schools and
teaching at their lunch break which is
just really cool how the Lord opened
those doors. Soon we will be starting a
teenage group fellowship on Saturday
nights. There is a thing we have here
called the Calvary Connection which
leaders of Ministries go up and talk a
little bit about their ministry and we
try and get people involved and we
will announce it there. I am very
excited for what God is doing. -Nathan
Our week in Rwanda was shorter due to our trip up to Uganda.
Melissa introduced a few worship songs in English to teach our
English class. The students were very excited about the songs.
We also visited Kimironko I, a primary school, to visit two
ABC kids as they were registering for the national exams. The
application process requires the students to choose three
secondary schools they would like to attend. Their acceptance
into the schools is dependent upon their scores. Melissa was
able to act as guardian to her sponsored boy Ian as she signed
his registration papers.
