A Word from Nathan

Hey everyone again, sorry for the delay. Brian and Lynne will be coming back on Thursday. I am extremely excited.  We have been pretty busy here; we just had a team from Boise, Idaho which was just really cool. We lunched at the Engage ministry for the teens, we also used them to do a couple outreaches, at 2 different colleges. It was really hard but everything was very well planned and executed. I have been going to schools and been able to teach them weekly, which has just really been amazing getting to know all them. I will be coming back home in August I think some time around then and I will get to see you all. God bless. -Nathan

Prayer Requests:

* Please pray for Dieudonnee and his five siblings who lost their father on Saturday. Their mother had passed away last year, so they are now completely on their own.

* Please pray for our last couple of months here in Rwanda. Pray that we will continue in God's will.

* Please continue to pray for the building project and for the "children's home." There are many children just within ABC that live on their own and need a home.

If you or anyone you know is physically or financially able to assist in these projects, please pray about how the Lord can use you. Also, you can contact Sean Lawrence at CCLH or by email: shannpubl@aol.com.

* Please pray for the several ABC children who are struggling in various situations that are detrimental to their well being.

* Please pray for the CCLH team that is preparing to come out this summer.

A Rare Sighting

Isaac Nshizirungu (Sponsored by Joe & Patricia Hickman)

On Thursday, Helen took us to visit one of the older ABC children. We were pleased to see Isaac doing very well in school. Since all of our secondary students board we rarely see the older ABC children. It is also difficult for children to get into a good secondary school (7th - 12th grades). At the end of their 6th year of primary education, children must take a national exam. Their scores determine their eligibility to attend secondary school. It is a huge honor and privilege for children to continue their education past sixth grade.

On Their Own

On Saturday, the six children above lost their father to illness. Last year, they lost their mother so they are now completely on their own. Dieudonnee (back left) is an ABC child, one of nine in secondary school. They currently live in a home under construction. Once construction is complete and the owner is ready to move in, these children will be homeless. Please pray that God will provide for them. The oldest son (back right) is worried knowing that it is his responsibility to care for his younger siblings now.

 English Class Finale!

After 15 weeks, our English class came to an end. We celebrated by inviting our students to their first American-style barbeque. It was fun teaching them how to build a burger. We had a great time hanging out with all of them one last time. They said it was a day they would never forget.
