EDUCATION:

Student supplies for
term two 2009: We purchased and availed all scholastic materials for Term 2,
2009. Items given out included exercise books, pens and pencils. Children who
attend classes from P.4 upwards received 200 page exercise books following their
request at one of the Saturday meetings during the last school holiday.

Fees for Term 2, 2009: We paid
all the school fees for this term. All our children can now attend school
without any interruption.
SPONSORSHIP:
We have been able to finish
the progress reports for last term and the letters from each sponsored child. We
had them sent with Pastor Francis when he went to visit Calvary Chapel La Habra
the beginning of June, 2009.
We have also had children who
no longer have sponsors directly attached to them write farewell letters to
their former sponsors. All the children were so sad as they wrote the letters.
We heard several comments from them as well as from their parents/guardians. All
of them are still committed to praying for sponsors so that they may be able to
have their original status restored. We are so grateful to CCLH for the
continued support to these children even if there are no sponsors for them.

These are

included 1110 Olive Niyigena, 1066 Emmanuel Bitebera, 1190Nadia Uwase and 1186
Elvise Kwizera.
Mail from Sponsors: We
received letters from sponsors through FedEx. Every time when such
letters come, the children receive them with a lot of joy. Children always enjoy
receiving pictures of their sponsors.

Sponsored children in Busanza: We held a special
Saturday meeting for the children in Busanza Saturday, May 30th. We used to have
them transported to Kimironko, but we decided to have a special one from the
church land in the area. It was so interesting as all the children enjoyed
having the meeting closer to their homes. We will continue to have such a
meeting for these children at least once a month.

CHILDREN'S HEALTH:
As usual,
the sponsored children are in good health. We continued to follow up on 1170
Aline Musigwayire’s health. She continued to receive treatment and the wounds
are drying up.
We have
also learned of two more children in the program who are infected with
HIV+/AIDS. There are now 10 children known be infected. Please pray for these
children and their families.
CHILDREN'S
SPIRITUAL GROWTH:
Our
sponsored children continue to grow spiritually. This month, Ernestine
Abayisenga accepted Jesus as her savior and was later baptized. Ernestine was at
one time among the uncooperative girls, but we thank God that we can now see her
continuing to grow holistically. She is now among our best children. She no
longer misses any Saturday meetings, and she attends her tailoring classes
regularly.

Ernestine was among the people who were baptized
at the Alpha Palace Hotel swimming pool this month. Simon organized the baptisms
while Pastor Etienne performed them.
PRAYER REQUEST:
We would
like to hold a special prayer this month for all children who have tested HIV+.
We want to seek God’s guidance for something special that we can do for them.
