John Kalule and David
Kimuli will be graduating from Calvary Chapel Kampala Bible
School this summer. We first met John and David two years ago in
Kampala, where we introduced them to Calvary Chapel and Pastor
Brian Kelly. That same year they entered the Bible School where
Limitless Boundaries has supported their education.
During the past
several years both young men have grown greatly in the Lord, and
have become active participants in the church. In addition to
both ushering, John is playing in the worship band and David
helps out throughout the week in a plethora of ministries.
Over the past year
they have traveled to Rwanda three times to minister with Pastor
Francis. Both are praying about possibly ministering long term
in Rwanda once they have completed their studies. Continue to
pray for John and David’s studies as well as for vision and
clarity on where God would have them minister upon their
graduation.

Background and
Salvation
Peter was saved in 2000 after attending
and evangelical church with a few of his friends. Though he was
raised in a catholic home, and was an altar boy, he never saw
his personal need for Christ until the message of grace was
preached.
Current Situation
Peter is currently taking classes at
CCBC. He is scheduled to graduate the end of this year
He also is very involved in the church.
Peter is an usher, helps cleaning, and has a big ministry among
street kids. Peter teaches the street kids every Sunday morning
(during the first service at 8am). There are about 30 kids in
his class and several of them have shown great life improvement
since the class began.
Future Plans
Peter comes from a more upper class
family, but they disowned him when he chose to attend the Bible
College instead of the university (even when they offered to
pay!) His ambitions have changed since his salvation in 2000.
Now Peter wants to go into full time
ministry. He believes that he has the gift of teaching, and
feels called to be a pastor.

Background and
Salvation
David was
raised in an orphanage home outside of Kampala. He got saved in
2001 after a fellow orphan shared the gospel with him while
working.
He joined the
Bible College & Calvary Chapel in 2004
Current
Situation
David will be
in the Bible College one more semester.
He is serving
at Calvary Chapel Kampala in the following ways: Usher ministry,
cleaning on Wednesday & Saturday for the services (David is one
of the most faithful volunteers that we have at the church).
David has also gone on a few mission trips to Rwanda. He is very
active in student and church life.
Future Plans
Though
currently in Bible College, David has a heart to teach the Bible
when he is finished. He believes that God has gifted him to be a
pastor one day. He wants to be an assistant pastor first, so
that he can learn from someone who has been doing it.
He wants to do
mission work as well. When asked where he wants to go he said,
“That’s God’s will. If it’s Uganda then Uganda, if it’s
somewhere else then I’ll do that too.” |
Background and Salvation
John was abandon by his parents
when he was a young boy. He was raised in an orphanage.
In 1997 John heard about Christ but
did not fully accept him until 1999. “I knew about Christ in
1997 but I was so stubborn. It wasn’t until 99, when things
in my life started getting tough, that I got saved” were
John’s exact words.
In 2003 John began interpreting for
a pastor in Mukono named Patrick. It was there that he met
Sean, Carl Lawrence, and Jason Stead. They asked him if he
understood the message that he was interpreting that day. He
didn’t.
He was introduced to Calvary Chapel
by the team from CCLH and started attending the Bible
College in 2004
Current Situation
John is in the Bible College and is
set to graduate next year. (he’s a little behind David right
now)
He helps out at the church in many
ways. Two of the biggest areas of service are in the worship
ministry and the children’s ministry.
John has joined the team that goes
to the remand center every week. The remand center is a
correctional facility for minors (Juvenile hall). John has
taken a prominent role in this ministry. His background is
very similar to the boys there and is able to relate with
many of them.
Future Plans
John also feels called to preach.
He wants to be a pastor one day.
He also has a heart for the mission
field.

Background and Salvation
David grew up just outside of
Kampala. He comes from a poor family, but was able to work
hard and get a job at a Lebanese restaurant in town. It was
at this restaurant that David met Vicky Bentley from FRM and
a few other missionaries from Calvary Chapel. They continued
to visit him there and share the gospel with him. In 2000
David accepted Christ as his personal savior. “I thought I
was saved before then, but when I realized my own sinfulness
it became personal” David told me.
David has been at Calvary Chapel
Kampala since it started in 2002. He was working part time
and taking classes part time at the Bible College until last
year when he became a full time student.
Current Situation
David is in the Bible College and
will graduate next year on his current schedule.
He is a big part of the ministry
here at the church. He is the head of the ushering
department and also prepares communion every Wednesday and
one Sunday a month. David, with two others, counts the
tithes and offerings at the church. He is the one who brings
the money to the bank every Monday morning and is considered
one of our most honest volunteers.
Future Plans
David believes that God has given
him the gift of encouragement. He wants to be a Biblical
counselor and help others through life’s problems. David is
currently counseling the students informally. He is a guy
that everyone knows and feels comfortable sharing their
problems with.
He doesn’t want to be a “senior
pastor” but would like to be an elder in a church or an
assistant pastor one day.
Other Comments
David is the most gentle and kind
Ugandan’s that I have met. He is a genuinely nice guy and
loves the Lord.

Background and Salvation
Zeddie was born in a Catholic
family. His mom died when he was eight years old, and his
dad died when he was 18. Zeddie said that on his dad
accepted Christ on his deathbed.
After graduating from High School
Zeddie joined Makerere University Business School in
Kampala. His major was accounting.
Zeddie didn’t get saved until 2002.
While at the university a Christian friend invited him to
watch “Meggido” Though the movie is cheesy (that’s my own
addition) Zeddie started thinking about the end of the world
and it really scared him. “I got convicted” he said “I asked
my friend if we could meet together so I could find out what
the Bible says about the end of the world.” Zeddie accepted
Jesus one week later.
His family (aunts uncles etc.)
distanced themselves from him. They stopped paying for his
college education and Zeddie was forced to drop out after
two years of university.
Current Situation
Zeddie has been At CCK since 2004.
He has been in the Bible College since 2005.
Since 2003 up to the time he joined
the Bible College he was working with Christian Athletes in
Uganda a NGO from Sweden. He did soccer and volleyball camps
in schools and orphanages throughout the country. Zeddie
still volunteers periodically with this sports ministry.
Zeddie is a great asset at the
church. He, together with another brother in the fellowship,
have started a sports ministry at CCK. Zeddie is also very
involved with the children’s ministry and the street kids
ministry.
UPDATE: Zeddie is now in charge of
the entire children’s ministry program at CCK.
He also coaches volleyball part
time at a large established High School in Uganda.
Future Plans
In 2003 Zeddie sensed that the Lord
would use him in full time ministry. At the time he thought
it would be a sports ministry, but now believes that God
wants to use him to teach the Bible.
This calling has been confirmed
through some of his classes at the Bible College. I asked
zeddie if he wanted to be a pastor one day. He told me yes,
that he wanted to be a pastor teacher.
Other Comments
I am very impressed with Zeddie’s
sense of work ethic and responsibility. He seems to have
risen above the laziness that is so common here among young
people. I really think that Zeddie has great potential and
is a sharp guy.
