While
ministering in Thailand following the devastating tsunami, we
crossed paths with several ministries that were involved in
Cambodia. These relationships led to an invitation to visit and see
what God was doing in neighboring Cambodia.
Over
several visits, God began to knit our hearts with a young Pastor
named Chomno In. His ministry, based in the border town of Poi Pet,
desires to have an impact on the whole nation. By introducing people
to their Creator, and having them discover their worth in His eyes
for the very first time
In
addition to pastoring a weekly fellowship, Chomno has also planted
several vocational schools in rural villages that teach the local
women sewing skills and the men mechanical skills. In addition to
teaching a money making skill the students are also taught daily
Bible studies and several churches have already been planted from
these studies.
Chomno
also operates a restaurant in Poi Pet in which he hires graduates
from the vocational schools.
Last
year, in addition to spending time with Chomno in Cambodia, we also
had the opportunity to spend time with him here in the U.S. as we
were able to bring him to the Senior Pastors Conference in
Murietta.
Throughout
2006 we have been sending small teams every three months to Cambodia
to teach Biblical leadership skills to the CHO staff. Many different
churches have joined us in sending out teachers including CC La
Habra, CC Visalia, CC Moreno Valley, CC Chino Valley and CC Pacific
Hills.
