          Calvary Chapel Montebello will send the first team. The approximate cost is $1,000 and will include food, lodging, and transportation (air and land travel).

          *Due to the nature of the trip, we do not encourage those with physical ailments to participate. The work is physically and emotionally draining. Therefore, we encourage groups not to stay longer than 8 days.

          If you would like to organize a team from your church to help in relief efforts, please contact Mark Castillo mcastle@ccmtb.com to reserve a date and obtain further information.  Prior to doing so, please take note of several considerations:

1.    It is crucial to communicate that this is not a vacation or missions trip. There are specific needs that must be met collaboratively between your group, CCR, and the in-land churches in Peru. Itineraries and schedules will be communicated and approved by our representatives in Peru prior to arrival

2.     Peru is a 3^rd world country and amenities are scarce.  Due to the transportation and lodging logistics, we encourage small groups of 5-10 people. Spanish-speakers are helpful, but knowledge of the language is not required.

3.     It is essential to adapt to the culture and focus on immediate physical need. The intent of sending teams is not to evangelize more than it is to share God’s love through physical care and emotional availability. Long--term goals include church planting, discipleship, continued relationships with existing Peruvian churches (suggested reading for all travelers: Patient Evangelism [Lloyd Pulley]).
